Get to know Megan
Megan has a deep love for the Church. She desires to see it experience shalom and be an agent of shalom in the world. As a teacher, practitioner, bridge-builder, and practical theologian, Megan spiritually forms Christians to faithfully, fully, and freely follow Jesus in a multiracial world.
Growing up in a rural, white town, Megan never imagined living in the city or being deeply invested in cross-racial community. But living and serving in predominantly Black spaces gave her a heart to build shalom across racial lines — and to help others do the same. With over 20 years of experience in cross-cultural settings, Megan is skilled at seeing culture, naming power, and analyzing beliefs in ways that contribute to the health, wholeness, and integrity of the body of Christ. With thought and care, she helps Christians - especially those from the dominant culture - examine their faith and live into the postures and practices that nurture the counter-cultural communities modeled by Jesus and the early Church.
Megan is a trailblazer in creating integrative pathways that equip the Church to continue Christ’s redemptive work in the world. She is the Founding Director of the Race & Christian Community Initiative (RCCI) and is on the leadership team at Abundant Life Church, where she designs shalom-centered approaches to discipleship and spiritual formation.
Raised as a white evangelical and deeply formed by Christians of color, Megan’s love for these communities compels her to walk alongside God’s people as they do the self-work, form the lifestyles, and take the action to contribute to racial healing and repair.
She holds a Bachelor in Youth Ministry from Gordon College, a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell's Center for Urban Ministerial Education, and a Master of Sacred Theology from Boston University, where she studied power dynamics in multiracial congregations. She is also in the process of ordination.
When not at work, Megan enjoys reading, outdoor exercise, cooking, and spending time with her husband and two children in Dorchester, MA.
